A Matter of Life and Death
I’m pleased that you're taking a closer look at Bukido®. I would like to speak with you, deeply and honestly, about why I firmly believe Bukido® is so much more than just a physical discipline. In fact, I personally believe Bukido® to be more of a mental discipline than a physical one. I also firmly believe that had I not encountered Richard and his Bukido® system when I did, I would not have the opportunity today to be talking with you.
Let me explain…
Two and a half years ago, quite by accident, it was discovered I had a brain tumor. In fact it was bad enough that the doctor said that I could have only a year left to live. I was devastated. Here I was, 34 years old, with what I presumed was a full life ahead of me, and I was having all of that taken from me. Well, like anyone else who receives similar news, I freaked; for about 30 seconds. Then, something inside me said 'NO!, it won't end like this, not today!' So, I began my long struggle for survival. I'd love to say I was successful at the start of my battle, but truthfully, I wasn't. Over the course of the next year I lost 40 pounds and my hair, I could not think as clearly, and I was in pain. And truthfully, I was beginning to believe I was losing the fight. It was at this time I ran into Richard and signed up for Bukido®. The very course and quality of my life changed.
There are many elements, both physical and mental, in Bukido®, but two mental disciplines in particular helped save my life. And I have Richard to thank for teaching me them.
Fear is something we deal with every day: fear of physical attack, fear of speaking in front of people, fear of flying...well, you get the idea. What Bukido® taught me was that I needed to face my fear, no matter what it was, in order to conquer it. Simple idea, but I admit it's hard to do. No one wants to admit they're fearful of something, especially a 245-pound bodybuilder like me! And I was in truth not dealing with my fears. Fear was dealing with me. Let me explain something right here: You need to face your fears, whatever they may be, or, believe me, your fears will chase you down and tackle you. You may not be dealing with a life or death situation like I was, but you still have fears, and it's affecting the quality of your life. If you're allowing your fears to determine what you will (or more likely) won't attempt, you are NOT living your life to its fullest. And you know in your heart what I've said is true. It's probably why your feeling dissatisfied with where your life is right now. Well, Bukido® is the best way I've ever found to teach you the discipline and develop the mental skills to deal with fear. You just have to, well, get over your fears and sign up!!
Pain is also something we must deal with frequently. Sure there is physical pain, but there's also pain when your proposal at work is turned down, or when you're not awarded that promotion, or when you ask someone out and the answer is no. No matter from what source, we all experience pain and, whether physical or mental, pain must be dealt with or it will overwhelm you. Bukido® has a system to help you deal with pain, think through it and continue to be able to take consistent, productive actions. A system which in the real world helps us deal with the temporary pain or disappointments we may encounter as we work toward our goals, whether in defense of our lives, or buying that dream house.
Let me again stress how important it is for you to get in touch with Richard and sign up for his Bukido® training. Yes, Richard's training does teach you 'real world' skills to deal with a physical attack, to get the job done, and to get it done quickly. In Bukido® you WILL learn how to deal with an attack when it comes. That in itself brings a strong sense of peace to you, and it alone is worth it's weight in gold. But as I've said before, Bukido® is so much more. If you are at all dissatisfied with the direction you're life is going, if you haven't accomplished what you once dreamed was possible, or you're living in a situation that is just sucking the very passion for life from you, you owe it to yourself to take control of your life back, to call Richard, and take the next Bukido® course.
Believe me, your life will change for the better! I hope to see you in class soon.
With love and gratitude,
David DiFrancesco
